A graphic about the upcoming renewal issue on the Nov 3 ballot

The Bethel-Tate Board of Education has placed a five-year renewal of the district’s existing fixed-sum operating levy on the November 3, 2026 ballot.

The issue is a renewal of an existing five-year levy approved by voters in May 2021. The renewal would continue generating approximately $1.51 million annually, the same fixed amount generated by the existing levy.

Because this is a fixed-sum levy, the millage required to generate that amount changes as property values change. The levy has been certified at 5.48 mills, or approximately $192 annually for each $100,000 of county auditor market value. If approved, collections would begin in calendar year 2027.

Revenue from the levy supports the district’s current operating expenses. These include costs associated with classroom instruction, staffing, student services, transportation, utilities, supplies, maintenance and other day-to-day expenses necessary to operate the district.

Additional information about the renewal and district finances is available in the district’s Frequently Asked Questions page and on the Treasurer’s page of the Bethel-Tate Local Schools website.
