Yamaha’s selection of Mr. Glader is well-deserved. In a short six years, and through the recent pandemic, he skillfully transformed Bethel-Tate Middle School’s music program into a thriving, nationally recognized program that now boasts over 55 percent student participation, more than doubling the previous participation of 25 percent.

Under his leadership, the program has earned three national awards (NAMM and Music for All), performed at state conferences, and consistently produced high-achieving students selected for honor bands and choirs. His dedication to excellence extends beyond the classroom, as he successfully secured over $50,000 in funding to provide students with high-quality instruments, choir risers, and sound equipment, ensuring long-term success for the program.

Beyond the classroom, Mr. Glader’s innovative approach to music education extends to social media, where his engaging content on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram (@TheDarthGlader) has reached nearly 250,000 followers and over 100 million views. His ability to connect with students and inspire a love of music has put Bethel-Tate’s music program on the map, earning him recognition as the 2022 Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Teacher of the Year and a 2023 Ohio Department of Education Teacher of the Year nominee. His impact is evident not only in student achievement but in the lasting culture of passion and pride he has fostered within Bethel-Tate Schools.

Since launching the “40 Under 40” music education advocacy program in 2021, Yamaha has honored educators who embody key characteristics such as action, courage, creativity, and growth - and Mr. Glader is no exception. Through his leadership, Bethel-Tate’s music program has flourished, inspiring students and fostering a love of music that will last a lifetime.

Each year, Yamaha receives hundreds of nominations from across the country, highlighting educators who are making extraordinary contributions to music education. Mr. Glader’s commitment to his students, innovative teaching methods, and dedication to expanding music opportunities in our community make him truly deserving of this national honor.
